Make-to-Order: Paladin’s Rule-Based Configurator

By on Nov 6, 2014 in Blog | 0 comments

Paladin Logic is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the Paladin Rule-Based Configurator: an extensive and powerful add-on package to xTuple designed to provide make-to-order capability. Rather than define an item for each variation on a product, you can use the Paladin Rule-Based Configurator to organize variations as sets of options which can apply to many items.  Make-to-order quotes and orders are fully integrated with xTuple’s line item entry screens, making option selection simple. Convert option-aware quotes to sales orders. Adjust work order materials requirements automatically when work orders are exploded (can add and remove materials). Manage option-aware inventory using lot/serial control. Sneak Peek Conveniently select make-to-order options on the quote and sales order.  In the screen to the left, the user has selected the standard toolbox option for the line item. The user could also have selected the deluxe toolbox, or any other toolbox option assigned to the item. With split capability, the user can even assign both a standard and deluxe toolbox to the line item. Any number of options may be selected from this view. Once options and rules are defined, your sales team will be empowered to know – right from the quote or sales order screen, without having to call you or anyone on the production floor – what custom make-to-order products your customers can purchase and whether there are ever any rule exceptions. Privileged users may override the rules, if desired. View total cost, price, and rule evaluations as options are selected. Requisite Features The Paladin Rule-Based Configurator requires xTuple version 4.3.1 or later.  We strongly recommend the use of lot/serial control to maintain a detailed inventory of which items have which...
